It is awarded 12 ECTS and recorded as an optional thesis in the student transcript, where the relevant grade is noted along with the title of the thesis in the language it was written in (German or Greek) and in English.

The topic of the thesis must be related to the subjects covered by one of the two Specializations of the School and may be linked to a Compulsory Elective course attended by the student.  

The thesis is supervised by a committee consisting of two members of the teaching staff, namely the supervisor and the co-supervisor. The supervisor must be a member of the Teaching and Research Staff (DEP).

Students can begin writing their thesis in the 7th semester, provided all requirements have been met.

The 15-minute oral defence of the thesis takes place before both members of the committee. The defence is open to the public, graded and the relevant grade is taken into account with regard to the final grade awarded to the thesis.
